Our History
First Peoples Bank was organized by several Harris County business people who had the foresight and vision to see that a community bank was much needed in our area. On December 31, 1987, First Peoples Bank was granted a charter by the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance.
The Bank opened for business in Pine Mountain on July 9, 1990 with fifteen employees. We opened our first branch in Hamilton in 1997. In 2013 we completed the construction of a state of the art branch building in downtown Hamilton.
On December 1, 2015, the Bank acquired The Greenville Banking Company in Greenville, GA. This bank was the oldest continuously chartered bank in the state of Georgia with an original opening date of January 1, 1887.
First Peoples Bank is proud to be the locally owned community bank serving the financial needs of families and small businesses in each of our communities. The Bank continues to prosper and grow as we add professional staff, explore new technology, expand our markets and maintain a level of service that is unmatched.
